About the event...
The Lexus of Blackburn Bay Crits were founded in 1989 by former champion Australian cyclist John Trevorrow. Now in it's 29th running, the event is recognized at the fastest criterium series in the world!
Held on the 3-5 January, the race takes in the beautiful Bellarine Peninsula for 2 stages, at Eastern Gardens and Richie Boulevard in Geelong, before traveling to the township of Williamstown for the final stage. The Bay Crits are not just a premier race for the riders, but they are also one for spectators with huge crowds attracted each year. You'd be hard pressed to find better way to spend a beautiful Summer day than overlooking the breathtaking bay and watching the world's fastest cyclists in action!
The Elite Men's and Women's categories are challenged each year by some of the best riders in Australia. Past winners of the Elite Men's include Caleb Ewan, Baden Cooke and Robbie McEwen. While previous winners of the Elite Women's include Gracie Elvin, Kate Bates and Kathy Watt.
This three-day series is definitely one not to be missed!
